Success Story
“Tim Kerley was the first award winner of the David Colegrave-Ed Markham International Scholarship Award in 2006. He is a graduate of Reading University with a BSc. in Horticulture, and had grown up working on his father’s nursery in Cambridgeshire.
He used the proceeds from the award to fund a work experience programme, first as a marketing assistant at plant broker Western Horticultural Products in Washington state, then as a trainee for Henry Mast Greenhouses, a major bedding plant producer in Michigan. He also had the opportunity to travel along the west coast for a month.
Tim is now employed full-time in the family business, DW & PG Kerley, where he is involved in the ongoing breeding programmes.
